Another wonderful Harvest Festival at St Matthew's

A wonderful Harvest Festival for KS1 and KS2

On Thursday 21st October KS1 and KS2 celebrated Harvest Festival. Unfortunately, this year it could not take place at church due to the church roof needing to be repaired. Instead, INSPIRE group led a wonderful service for both key stages in our school hall. They taught us the importance of showing gratitude, compassion and generosity - all important Christian values. We also learnt that a lot of hard work goes into getting our food to us and that our food has sometimes travelled thousands of miles before reaching our dinner table. The singing from both key stages was beautiful and it was lovely to see everyone so happy at Harvest Time!

A Harvest Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for the food that you provide for us.

Thank you that we have the ability and means to share.

Help us to adopt attitudes of gratitude, compassion and generosity.

We pray for the work of Telford Crisis Support and other charities that support those in need of food.

Please help them with the work they do.

Amen.
