"One of life's most painful moments comes when we must admit that we didn't do our homework, that we are not prepared." - Merlin Olsen
At St. Matthew's the children are set homework once a half term in line with their Cornerstones unit of work. This homework takes the form of a mini project incorporating a wide variety of curriculum areas and encouraging creativity. The children will receive a guidance sheet within their homework book which will outline the project and identify links and ideas for developing and supporting other curriculum areas. The children's projects will need to be handed in the week before the end of the half term. Below are some of the fantastic projects our children have already completed this year.
Alongside this children are expected to be heard read frequently at home, ideally daily, with a comment written in their reading diary. Parents can also support their children with spellings using the word bank list provided in the form of the children's reading books.
