Attendance
Good attendance is key to your child's routine, learning, progress and well-being. Please ensure that your child is in class everyday and is ready to learn for 8.50am. Children will finish school at 3:15pm where they will be collected from the KS1 gate at the front of school.
Reading
At St Matthew's, we encourage every child to read at home to an adult at least 3 times a week. We ask for home reading to be signed by an adult in their reading journals either after each read, or at the end of the week. If a child reads independently, they may also record this in their reading journal. This can include any books they have read either from home or school. Each week, a certificate will be given to a child in each class to celebrate the ‘Reader Of The Week!’.
Homework
Homework is given out every Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest. If your child requires any support with their homework, please do not hesitate to email us as we will ensure they receive help with the activities set.
PE
The children will have two lessons of PE each week. One session will be in an indoor PE lesson (Thursday) and one will be an outdoor PE lesson (Wednesday).
