St Matthew's C.E Primary School

“I can do all things because Christ gives me strength” Philippians 4:13

Year 3/4 - Saint Sophia

Welcome to St Sophia

It is lovely to be back. The children have settled back into school brilliantly and are clearly enjoying being back with their friends. We have high expectations of the children and I can honestly say that they have all had a very positive start back to the new year.

Myself and Mrs James-Neild are looking forward to sharing lots of lovely experiences with the class and hopefully, celebrating many positives along the way!

Our class Saint is St Sophia, who is a Christian Martyr.

Sophia is known for teaching and speaking the truth even when it results in the death of her own family. Faith, Hope, and Love are pure examples of defending their faith no matter their age. Many Christians pray to St. Sophia and her daughters for strength and courage in any persecution they are facing in their lives. St Sophia demonstrates our school's core values, Respect, Responsibility, resilience.

Homework

The children will be set a piece of homework each week either focussing on Literacy of Mathematics. They will be given their homework book every Friday and it needs to be handed in no later than the following Thursday. This is so that we can mark their work and stick in the next piece ready for the following day. The he children will also be expected to learn spellings each week and also times tables. We encourage parents to help with homework where they can, Thankyou.

Thankyou for your continued support!
