This half term our topic is the Romans.

We will be looking at life in Rome, what the Romans ate and what the Romans wore. We will also cover who was ruling Rome and the structure of power that existed.

English - This half term we will be covering persuasive writing. We will be writing about ancient Rome and persuading someone to visit Rome.

Reading - Our class book is called  'The Thieves of Ostia' by Caroline Lawrence. It is a story about a young girl who solves a mystery with her three friends. The children will have access to their own copy of the class book in school. It's also really important that the children read regularly at home and we will try our best to change books on a weekly basis.

In time we will be recapping half past, quarter to and past and 5 minute intervals. we will be covering how to read an analogue clock to the minute and begin to look at durations of time.

Science - In science this half term we will be looking at our changing world. We will grow sunflowers in class and see how they change week by week. We will look at seasons notice the changes. We will also look at seeds and leaves and how they change over the year.
